Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the provision of workshops and briefings (“Services”) by EQ Economics (“we,” “our,” “us”). By registering for or attending our Services, you (“Participant,” “you”) acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Compliance with Applicable Law

EQ Economics complies with all relevant legislation, including but not limited to the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Commonwealth). Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantees, rights, or remedies conferred by the ACL or other applicable law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement.

3. Eligibility

  • Services are intended for individuals and organizations seeking economic advisory and educational content.
  • Participants must be at least 18 years of age unless expressly permitted in writing.

4. Registration and Payment

  • Registration is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment or a binding written agreement.
  • Fees must be paid in advance unless otherwise agreed.
  • EQ Economics reserves the right to decline or cancel registrations at its discretion, subject to applicable consumer protection laws.

5. Cancellations and Refunds

  • All cancellations must be submitted in writing to EQ Economics.
  • Refunds EQ Workshops:
    • Full refund if you cancel at least 30 days before the workshop/briefing.
    • Credit if you cancel within 30 days but no later than 7 days.
    • No refund or credit if you cancel less than 7 days before the event.
  • Refunds EQ Briefings:
    • Full refund if you cancel at least 3 days before the workshop/briefing.
    • No refund if you cancel less than 3 days before the event.
  • Credits may be applied to future Services at EQ Economics’ discretion.
  • EQ Economics may cancel or reschedule Services due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, Participants will be entitled to a full refund or transfer to a future session, consistent with ACL requirements.

6. Conduct and Participation

  • Participants must conduct themselves professionally and respectfully.
  • EQ Economics reserves the right to remove any Participant whose conduct disrupts the Service or breaches these Terms, without prejudice to any rights under law.

7. Intellectual Property

  • All materials, presentations, and content provided during Services are the intellectual property of EQ Economics unless otherwise stated.
  • Participants are granted a limited, non‑transferable license to use materials for personal or organizational purposes only.
  • Reproduction, distribution, or disclosure of materials without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.

8. Confidentiality

  • EQ Economics may disclose insights, data, or case studies during Services. Participants agree to maintain confidentiality and not disclose such information to third parties.
  • EQ Economics will handle Participant information in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth).

9. Limitation of Liability

  • Services are provided for educational and informational purposes only and do not constitute financial, investment, or legal advice.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, EQ Economics excludes all liability for any loss, damage, or expense incurred by reliance on information provided during Services.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law.

10. Privacy

  • EQ Economics collects Participant details solely for registration, administration, and communication purposes.
  • Personal information is managed in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth) and our Privacy Policy.
  • We will not disclose personal information to third parties except as required by law.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

Refunds & Cancellation Policy

Refunds & Cancellation Policy (Summary)

  • Cancellations: Please let us know in writing if you can’t attend.
  • Refunds EQ Workshops:
    • Full refund if you cancel at least 30 days before the workshop/briefing.
    • Credit if you cancel within 30 days but no later than 7 days prior to workshop.
    • No refund or credit if you cancel less than 7 days before the event.
  • Refunds EQ Briefings:
    • Full refund if you cancel at least 3 days before the workshop/briefing.
    • No refund if you cancel less than 3 days before the event.
  • Non‑attendance: If you don’t attend without cancelling, the fee is forfeited.
  • Provider cancellations: If EQ Economics cancels or reschedules, you’ll receive a full refund or be offered a transfer to another session.
  • Substitutions: You may send a colleague in your place at no extra cost (please notify us in advance).
  • Refund timing: Approved refunds are processed within 10 business days.
